• Poshmark- Just like depop; they offer a leading social marketplace for users to sell and buy their new but secondhand items for an affordable price.
• Facebook Marketplace– This specific site has an abundance of not only items of various niches but closet-ware that is extravagantly low cost.

I’ve only included a few examples but you can find a large selection of common like online E-commerce shops here.

Cheap fashion is really far from that. It may be cheap in terms of the financial cost, but very expensive when it comes to the environment and the cost of human life.

The ultimate way to shop for sustainable shirts and dresses would be the never ending cycle of thrift stores and second-hand stores.

The prices do range depending on the city you’re shopping in. You can find yourself paying under $50 for 20 items or in some cases spending $50 on 30+ items.

My biggest tip would be to use a software to find the thrift stores near you that are worthy of your time, you can find that link here.

Has to be one of my favorite websites to use because they have the genuine details of the shops you’re about to enter.

By utilizing these tricks I was able to obtain these:

1.) Shirts, Blouses & Sweaters

Now, although this may not be your style or niche for clothing.

The point is to show you the conditions of each item and the pricing to give you a representation as to why it’s best to shop sustainably and affordably.

These weren’t once in a life time finds either. There are so many people in your communities and online who are constantly recycling their wardrobe.

Side Note: If I were to have purchased each of these shirts at a retail store I would’ve had to pay closer to $200 or more even. Having said that, all of these beautiful blouses and shirts cost me only under $40!

2.) Dresses

When it comes down to any type of dress or style it’s so easy to find online and in-store.

Again, I know this isn’t everybody’s style nor would I assume it is, this is to show you guys the large possibility to find something affordable and adorable.

Because you can so easily find some great pieces like the ones shown below!

Not to even mention how unique each of them are, you can find an abundance of different fabrics, prints and styles.

Yes, I showed a few examples of some great dresses and shirts but these aren’t the only items I’ve purchased using this technique.

The best way to look stylish on a budget is to try second-hand, bargain hunting, and vintage.

In this post I want to indicate and elaborate the magnificent ways to refurbish and upcycle the plentiful of vases you pass up every time you enter the thrift store!

Creating imperfect to perfect!

Shopping eco-friendly and sustainable is what LC is about. Let me show you the great ways to create such an amazing piece for your table setting, countertop or corner bathroom decor!

Jumping into it:

You need 3 items to make this project happen! Only three!

• Any second-hand vase of your choosing

Each of these vases you come across will cost between $3-6 depending on how big you choose. Either or such a steal!

• Clear Elmer’s Glue (or relatively any clear glue)

This will be the most expensive part of your project only due to us picking up the gallon rather than the smaller bottle. This piece is crucial to the project because it’ll make everything stick together (literally lol)

• Fake Thrifted Flowers

These are the main item for this project and you can find these everywhere in a thrift store for as low as $1! They always have a vast selection in the vase section of these said fake flowers. You’ll never be disappointed!

Another alternative to the fake flowers would be shopping at Hobby Lobby! They with out a doubt have so many assortments you can pick and choose from to represent your house the way you want it to!

I’ll go into further detail with the Hobby Lobby finds later on but I want to give you a rough estimate of how much this project will cost you!

I include the gallon of clear glue only due to the fact that I made multiple of these projects which in fact you’ll see below.

You can view this and say it would be cheaper buying it retail price but I promise you, with all the items you’ve purchased you’ll get your money’s worth with multiple projects.

Although, this cost roughly $26.97, I made at least 3 beautiful projects throughout that cost. You can’t purchase 3 pre-made fake flower vases for that cheap!

Such perfect, creative, pieces that you can proudly say you made! I wanted to give you guys the finished product before I went into how to make it; just to give you some more inspiration.

I made three of these pre-made vases just from the one gallon that I’ve bought, which you can do too! Between the under $30 you spent you can absolutely make 3-4 vases.

I love this idea because you can gift these or even plant them anywhere in your house. It’s a win-win and you get your money’s worth every time!

I began by:

Well, first cleaning the vase, drying and polishing beforehand!

I can say I used about 1 1/2 cups worth of glue for each of the vases, it does vary with the vase type though so take my measuring with a grain of salt.

As long as you use minimal amount of glue you’ll be able to flourish with a ton of these projects.

Are you guys noticing all my puns? Lol!

Quick Tip: You can easily add a little bit of blue food coloring into the vases to give it a more colorful look on top of that. I didn’t implement it but I wish I had on at least one of them!

Next step:

When it came down to it, I decided on shopping at Hobby Lobby as I previously said because I knew just how many opportunities I’d have with the selections.

They always have insane deals you won’t want to miss out on! I use the link just below to find out which weeks the florals are on sale!

I got all the flowers for less than $2 each which made it so much better! But, I was only able to accomplish that by utilizing the weekly ads they put on their website.

Last Step:

When placing them into the vase I had 2 pairs of chopsticks that I used to hold them in place while they dried. If you don’t have said chopsticks I recommend using a few pencils or generally anything long enough to fit over the vases hole.

You can easily just lean your flowers against something as well in the placements you want. I however, didn’t fill up the vases completely with flowers hence why I needed to secure it more.

I will say it probably took a whole week to fully cure, I did just leave them in my garage and to be brutally honest- forgot about them! I truly believe you don’t need to let them sit for as long as I did but it’s better to be safer than sorry.

My advice would be to just set them up all nicely and completely let them be for as long as you can. Since there’s so much product of glue it’s best to let them sit for a long duration.

All in all such an easy little project to do with a family member or even yourself. I had a swell time picking out which vases and each flower to go with my household and I know you guys will too!

In Conclusion:

This has to be one of the easiest projects I’ve made so far and don’t regret it at all. They came out flawless! With how inexpensive it was to create multiples I’d do it just for the fun of it again! I’ll be elaborating with you guys and show you how to obtain sustainable, designer and everyday wear shoes at affordable prices! You’ll never go wrong when you turn to thrift stores for some new low cost pieces, I can assure you that.

I never thought I’d come to the day where I show my readers the great opportunities from second-hand shopping for foot wear. I haven’t been let down yet and I want to share with you guys the hows and whys!

You can find such unique shoes ranging from high heels, to gorgeous boots, and all the in between. Just by implementing second-hand stores into your line of sight, you can obtain some impeccable pieces, for a bargain.

Three useful tips to always be aware of:

#1 Give Your Shoes a Test Drive Before Purchasing

It’s such a bummer when you find amazing shoes and they break, tear or are just disheveled after you have already purchased them.

I’ve had some bad luck with these exceptional boots I’ve bought in the past (that I didn’t try on). To make a long, sad story short – I tried these said boots on, once I made it home and the sole’s of the boots fell completely off after taking a few steps. It was in fact a tragedy.

Although, it may be uncomfortable and awkward trying them on in store it’s worth the discomfort. Especially, incase they destruct or don’t fit after you’ve already spent your money on them.

#2 Always Inspect the Bottom Shelves

I’ve found my all-time favorite kitten heels by making sure I’m closely observing the slightly hidden bottom shelves. I do feel as if the retail workers do this on purpose but that’s just a speculation lol!

You can miss out on a marvelous pair of shoes if you aren’t taking more time to fully look at all the racks. It’s easy to just scan what’s at eye level but I can promise you it’s worth it to also focus on the shoes you can’t fully see without closer inspection.

#3 Always be Prepared

By this I mean, when you’re anticipating on going thrifting, make sure you are either wearing socks or have some handy. Not trying them on can be a travesty as I’ve elaborated on above!

Tying back into both tips, when you find a great pair you love that represent you and your style – you will want to make sure you can try them on before purchasing. You can’t make that happen if you aren’t prepared.

All in all just ensure you have some socks because you don’t want to make the mistake of buying your wrong size or poor quality shoes just because you couldn’t try them on.

Side Note:

You may have the begging thoughts in the back of your head, “Ew gross, somebody else has worn these.” or even, “What if they smell? Foot Warts?” That last little question was a total exaggeration but you see where I’m headed with this.

Many donation distributors clean just about everything before they put it on the shelves/racks. If you’re still skeptical, there are plenty of ways to clean second-hand shoes that meet any expectations.

I, too have had these thoughts in the past plenty of times due to me being a slight germaphobe. But, over the years of me purchasing thrifted shoes I have had a change of direction because I’ve found so many exceptional pieces for such a low cost. Which I will be sharing with you guys!

Now, I want to jump into my finds:

I mention my own thrifted purchases to show you guys not only how likely it is to find great pieces but how cost affordable they are and the conditions of each shoe.

The state of each of these heels are remarkable, without a doubt there will be some wear on them but what else is there to expect from donated items? Even after years of purchasing donated heels, I can proudly say none of them have broken or snapped!

The uniqueness of the kitten heels, the chunkiness of the larger heels, and not to mention how each of these pairs are eye candy! With that, you never truly know what you’ll find when shopping for new shoes; it’s endless.

You’re bound to find vintage, designer, distinctive and affordable pairs of shoes. What you won’t find is the retail prices. Instead, you’re able to purchase some great foot-wear for nothing.

I’ve always been a close-toe-shoe type of gal but when I started implementing second-hand shoes into my collection, I never stopped.

Each of these heels cost me between $6.99-10.99! With the conditions they were donated at and the beauty of them; I vote that’s a great bargain.

Breaking down the costs:

Also, more bonus shoes I’ve claimed as my own and have just adored. The twist is you guys get to view the raw prices of some brand new shoes!

The boots and heals that are shown above are relatively high price when it comes to retail. Especially the Charles David Red Bottom’s… my jaw dropped when I found them brand new, as well as the Dr. Marten boots.

As I’ve mentioned multiple times the cost of each are incredibly low. You’ll never be breaking your bank when shopping this way, on top of that you’re able to maintain a great budget.

You’ll be amazing by how many women and men donate their brand new shoes due to not being able to return, wrong size, or even them not being their style. I’ve encountered a colossal amount of ‘like new’ shoes for such a reasonable price.

In Conclusion:

You can maintain a budget when being a shoe fanatic, like myself. With that being said, always give your shoes a test drive, be prepared when you know you’ll be searching for shoes and remember to thoroughly inspect all racks!

Of all things, purses and hand bags are my top favorite pieces to style within my outfits! I say that with full confidence because who doesn’t love a unique bag thats durable, affordable and good quality?!

Very excited to share all my great tips to finding some fabulous bags! Whether male or female you should be able to express yourself through not only your clothing, makeup, etc. but through your purses too.

Lunacy Crafts’s is a very big advocate when it comes to self expression, as well as the confidence you gain from feeling free within yourself and having the freedom to convey who you really are; externally.

I know it’s very easy to just hop on the fast fashion trends and shop cheaply through China distributors but when it comes to a larger aspect of our planet and saving the ecosystem; we can do better.

For Example: You can find multiple cheap purses off of Shein, Romwe, Zaful, etc. that last only a month due to the poor quality of material. What you don’t realize sometimes is those exact styles of purses are everywhere in second-hand shops for just as low of a cost! They’ll last you so much longer and have so much more potential than actual cheap purses, you purchase online.

Let’s jump right in!

I want to first dive into designer bags that I’ve found throughout my long adventures of the thrift world. You’ll be amazed at how many people donate their used designer purses for nothing in return.

Side Note: You’ll always have the thought in the back of your head, “What if this isn’t the real deal?” I can assure you from somebody who’s spoken to many retailers about this exact question, they verify these items with the production codes and get their authenticity to ensure you’re getting the real deal.

Below, I want to show you guys the beautiful purses I’ve purchased to give you guys an idea of the conditions these designer purses are in and the expenses:

Coach Handle Drop 91′: This purse was a complete gold mine for me, I’ve always wanted a vintage time capsule; and viola! This purse was definitely on the pricier side for me but I could not pass up that beauty. I used this purse for a year straight and I genuinely added all the damage to it lol! I bought it in pristine condition which made it that much better.

Coach Coin Pouch 12′: Ridiculously low cost and honestly a very common item that is donated; odd right? As much as I’ve used it, it’s still in perfect condition. I’ve had it for 4 years and some change and have never regretted picking up that small beauty.

Dooney & Bourke Cross Body 17′: Such a shock when this popped up in my local shop, I didn’t even look at the price that’s how excited I was! It came with a few creases in the leather but the wear on it was short of nothing. D&B is a very common handbag to be donated as well.

Matt & Nat Crossbody 20′: This purse and what it was priced at had my mind reeling! I don’t believe the thrift store knew how nice of an item it was, from the vegan leather and just a great quality bag, I practically stole it lol! That’s why I always say check every purse because you’ll never know what you’ll find!

Everyday purses & common handbags found everywhere:

From the small totes, to the adorable crossbody purses and short handle bags, they’re all worth the money. Each of these purses have lasted me a year+ and I’ll never go back to retail because of it!

Sharing my finds and prices of each because these purses are nothing close to a rare find. You’ll have all the luck in the world when you truly look at the purse section.

Tip: I always manifest when looking for another everyday purse, so I put it out into the universe that I can and will find said everyday purse. Always B-line to the purse section especially when the clock hits 11:00 a.m.! Every shop restocks between 11:00a.m.-4:00p.m. but half the time the best items are always presented first!

I haven’t bought a retail purse or bag in about 5 years due to the high quality the thrift stores provide me. When walking into a second-hand shop you’re not, not going to find an amazing purse!

Little rare finds bonus:

When I elaborate that I found both of these custom made purses in a two week span, I, well…speechless.

With how unique and exceptionally gorgeous these are, I haven’t scored on a third in about a year. Hopefully one of you guys have picked it up because that would make me feel better haha!

Although, I still have yet to style these due to them being eye candy in my closet. After this post I will be sure to wear one of them out!

The pearl handle was priced closer to $30 but I know the shop owner and she unexpectedly gave it to me for $20! The leopard print beauty was only $10.99. These custom purses retail $60-200, meaning if you see one you better pick one up! They’re magnificent.

Final Note:

Instead of shopping retail or overpriced cheap purses I highly suggest giving second-hand a chance. I showed you guys the very affordable, durable and high quality purse collection I’ve collected over the years of thrifting. You can find designer, everyday handbags and custom pieces for such an effective price. Due to that I wanted to make a post dedicated to obtaining some great jackets and coats affordably. You’ll never go wrong with second-hand jackets hence how we find these low cost seasonal coats.

We’ll be going into the prices, my own finds and the best tricks to finding these lovely jackets to keep you comfortable during any season! Thrifting for your winter, spring or fall wardrobe will save you so much money and give you so much more inspiration for shopping sustainably.

I want to first begin with my own finds:

I’ve acquired all of these amazing pieces just by taking the time to truly dive deep into the multiple coat racks.

Each of these coats have zero flaws that I’ve noticed and have lasted me years. The splendid part of shopping second-hand is the fact most of my jackets are vintage and even one of a kind finds.

I pass up so many amazing jackets each time I enter the thrift store, there are endless possibilities, such a wide range of styles and they’re incredibly cheap. You’ll absolute in doubt find amazing jackets that represent you!

Each of the jackets I’ve shown above were under $15. Some were even as low as $5.99! Having found such amazing jackets for that low cost is reason enough to trust in second-hand!

Exhibiting my own jackets and coats gives you guys the clear insight that you can and absolutely will find some lovely pieces you love.

Pricing when it comes to smaller and larger coats:

I mention this due to the range of prices when it comes to certain jackets versus others. In full confidence they’re extremely low cost for such amazing pieces.

You can observe, there isn’t much of a difference in pricing which is the best part of shopping second-hand. A few dollar difference between trench coats and cropped jackets? I say that’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss out on.

Allowing you guys to see the honest prices, gives you more of a reach on what you’re actually paying for rather than retail which we don’t want to turn to.

There is no better place to find such affordability, especially with winter coats and jackets. The versatility within each coat can give a flexibility of so many different styles which I embrace.

Two main tips that 100% allow you to find greatness when shopping for coats would include:

1. Inspecting each item completely before making up your mind!

• What I mean by this, is making sure you’re thoroughly pulling out and examining the said jackets or coats.
• You want to ensure you’re looking at all the details and don’t miss out on that one prized piece due to you not fully inspecting the item.

Example: I’ve passed up some great pieces because I didn’t take the time to fully observe the clothing items. The silver lining behind this example, is I did in fact have one of my thrifting partners with me at the time, that picked up the item I didn’t fully examine. Due to them taking that time; they scored on that beautiful jacket -not me.

2. Identifying which jacket/coats you genuinely need for the seasons

• You should always keep in mind what or exactly which type of top coat you need when thrifting. Spending money on ginormous jackets you won’t ever touch because you live in a climate where that doesn’t pertain to you; is just a waste of your money.
• With that, I live out here in Southern California, I wouldn’t be thrifting for a Colorado winter if you understand where I’m going with that.

Example 1 : Typically if you live in a state that gets extravagantly cold during the fall-spring seasons, you’ll want to find the more heavy duty jackets and/or light weight coats so you can layer.

Example 2: If you reside in warmer climates you shouldn’t be purchasing the larger jackets, rather you’ll want to search for blazers or wind breakers per se. They’ll keep you warm but not too warm where you’re regretting your larger jacket choices.

In Conclusion:

When it comes to shopping for nice, sustainable and affordable seasonal jackets always turn to second-hand shopping! You’ll never go wrong with thrifted jackets, due to them lasting forever.

When shopping low cost for your items always make sure you’re fully examining those said items and ensure you have a mental note of the correct jackets/coats you need. We’re shopping affordably not ridiculously lol!

Wasting time going to not so great second-hand stores are a complete drag, you’re searching for things you won’t find, the place is a dump or the racks are always empty.

I’ve encountered a lot of thrift stores and have made a complete list of my favorites over the years. Running from Los Angeles all the way to San Diego.

Best Thrift Stores in CA:

1.) Vintage Vortex

Every Rack is filled to the brim with the most authentic pieces you’ll ever find. When visiting LA this is my first stop every time! I can’t stress it enough, this is my #1 favorite vintage shop I’ve ever encountered.

2.) Jet Rag

When walking in, you are met with two stories of filled racks with insanely good pieces. You’ll get lost in there for hours with out a doubt.

Their wide range of items gives you such a rush of adrenaline. By that I mean it’s so exciting just walking in knowing you’ll walk out with so many items for a considerable price; it’ll make your head spin!

Walking into the store you’re met with countless amounts of racks, large selections of home decor and appliances; not to mention the abundance of women’s dresses that line two walls of the entire store… AMAZING!

Of all Goodwills in Los Angeles, I can assure you this one is absolutely worth your time. They have an amazing track record when it comes to unique, designer and vintage items.

They have a surplus of both men and women’s clothing. I’ve walked in late on a Sunday night and still the racks are full!

5.) Savers

Personally, I can say I’ve never walked into a bigger thrift store… ever! Their entire right side of the store is completely dedicated to household items, furniture, books and so much more.

Their kids section is so large, women’s and mens. You can spend hours in there and just get lost with all of the wonderful pieces there are to find. The best thing is they’re restocking every 25 minutes starting from 11:00-4:00pm. You’ll see one thing then turn around and there’s a second!

They have incredible prices for such a small business not to mention their vast collections of items everywhere in the store. Their kids section takes up just as much space as the women’s… that’s huge!

If you’re in Temecula I highly recommend popping in to view their clothing as well as amenities. It truly won’t be something you regret.

7.) OC Goodwill

Absolutely recommend this store if you’re in Oceanside (especially off of the 76 highway) it will never disappoint you. You’ll find some rare finds and extravagant pieces.

Side Note: They did have to raise their prices just a bit due to the inflammation in the economy. Completely understandable when you view a donation center… other than a few dollars I can assure you it is worth it!

8.) Sea hive MarketPlace

Highly recommend if you’re in for a long time AND a good time! Their sunglass cases are endless not to mention the incredible dresses, mens jackets and so much more.

Nice marketplace filled with various vendors. The workers were nice and helpful. Pricing was all over the place and seemed reasonable. Nothing felt too overpriced. I found some good home decor. But you can find anything from new to vintage. Worth the stop.

Truly believe this is a store you should stop at for amazing items that you wont ever find again. Not to mention they’re from TV shows meaning they have variety of sizes and extremely high end items for such a low cost!

10.) Vista Goodwill

As I previously discussed, their items are a bit expensive. When I elaborate on expensive, I mean their sweaters are $8.99 which to a non thrifter enthusiast, that’s nothing. But, they have gone up a few dollars so I say be aware of that when walking in.

Other than that, I absolutely loved this Goodwill and consistently walk out with such exciting pieces I didn’t even know I needed.

Always good service here! The cashier’s are very nice and the place is never dirty. Whenever you come you see the isles being restocked!

Never thought I would actually shop for clothes at a goodwill store but I was pleasantly surprised when I found name brand jeans in my size that I love and they were in perfect condition for 7$ can’t beat that. I just bring them home wash them and hang to dry. I only look for jeans when I go but believe me it’s worth checking it out.

10 spectacular thrift stores and vintage stores that are all worth stopping at! Shopping low cost and sustainably is worth it when it comes to your wardrobe or your loved ones.

Once I began shopping second-hand for my jewelry I never went back!

Where to Look for Jewelry When on a Budget:

Diving into the great ways to possess many many pieces of great jewelry always starts with second-hand stores and thrift stores.

1.) Second Hand Stores/Thrift Stores

I personally have found my favorite jewelry pieces from my local thrift stores. Their prices are what makes it even better.

Side Note: You’ll always have the thought in the back of your head wondering if each piece will break or tarnish but with all the experience in buying said jewelry I can proudly say that’s only happened a couple of times.

2.) Online E-commerce Stores

These online stores are extremely reliable and won’t let you down when wanting to shop for your next statement piece.

I put so much faith in second-hand jewelry because it never let me down in the departments of uniqueness, sturdiness or even affordability.

1.)Bangles & Bracelets

These roughly cost me under $3.99 each!

I only include the pieces I have bought because It’s such a large selection of different styles.

It’s a no-brainer that you won’t not walk into a thrift store and find a jewelry piece that you love! Or even browsing any of the online e-commerce shops listed above,

Love, love, love these watches I alternate each one about every other day depending on what I’m wearing.

They were in pristine condition when I purchased them.

When it comes to the costs of each piece you’ll find it insanely cost effective.

The great thing about about how low cost it is, is the fact, vast majority of the jewelry pieces are made with sterling silver OR stainless steal. Meaning, they won’t tarnish or make your arm/neck green which is the best part.

Like said above, I have had a few encounters with costume jewelry that didn’t last me very long but the silver lining to that is the jewelry cost me under $5!

All in all buying cost efficient jewelry is such an easy and fun adventure.

The high point is you don’t have to spend at an incredible price; you can buy these nice watches that people knowingly donate that are spectacular!

3.) Necklaces

Each of these sterling silver necklaces cost me under $8!

Definitely not the full thrifted collection but you get the gist of how unique each necklace is!

There’s no going wrong with these necklaces. I tend to wear a necklace for weeks at a time and I can proudly say none of these have tarnished.

Although, I only show a few this doesn’t go past all the plenty of others I’ve found for such a low price!

You’ll walk into a thrift store and come out with entirely new jewelry to fill your jewelry box!

I’m really interested in fashion but at the same time I find it quite competitive. Second-hand stuff leaves you more open to whatever your own personal style is rather than feeling dictated to by shops.
